I downloaded a torrent full of Final Fantasy singles the other day, and there was a faster version of the song, with another female singer. I wondered if anyone else had heard it before? I just came across it in my wanders!

I feel that Angela Aki takes too many liberties with tempo and pitch. Therefore, I vote for Faye Wong's version.

That version by Angela Aki is from the Final Fantasy Concert in Yokohama, called "VOICES Music from Final Fantasy"

I like the piano a lot, Faye's voice is kinda squeaky. I vote for Angela :P

It was at that concert, however it was on one of the singles or something. I've already downloaded the torrent =P.

I think she does slightly overhash it maybe, but I feel it just has more feeling and emotion than the Faye Wong version, that's why I voted for Aki's version

The new version has a different beat and it's nice but I still prefer the original.
Cause you're more familiar with the song from the ending of FF8. It matched the ending more than the new version.

I'm just thinking of them as pieces of music alone, rather than pieces of music that would have ended off FF8 nicely.

I say the same. Angela Akis voice is strange to me but as the song goes on...there are some parts that she sings that I prefer in comparison to Faye Wongs preformance. She does take some liberty with the tempo and pitch, but thats part of doing covers. Make it your own.

By the way...in related vids. Her preformance of Kiss from a Rose in Japanese is incredible

I prefer Faye Wong, Angela Aki just doesn't sound right. Faye's voice seems a little softer or something that I can't place.

I think that there is something somewhat magical about angela aki's voice. Its just something that I havent heard before, the way sings is sometimes so nostalgic...ish...I think...
