So I recently obtained the FF7ac soundtrack.

It sounds all right as movie background music, but it doesn't work so much as video game music. That's okay, though, because FF7ac is a movie and not a video game. (But I tend to prefer video game music over movie music.)

The only songs I particularly like are the piano version of the battle theme, J-E-N-O-V-A, and One-Winged Angel (which actually has different lyrics than the original OWA).

Half of the stuff I just didn't like. Personally, I think that SE may have over done the movie with opera voices in the backround. But I have not listened to the music in a bit, so Ill have to refresh

I'm with Grim on this one heh...It was good background music, but not really anything new. But then, it was a very long time ago that I heard this so my opinion may have changed since then...

Being the instrumental rock/metal music addict I am, I actually found it to be quite a great soundtrack. Sure, One-Winged Angel is WAY over-rated but I still find it to be a great song. Other tracks like the Divinity ones I like, but if I had to pick a single favorite one, that would be "Water"... probably because it actually gives me a... wel,, water feeling :p and even the "Black Water" version is cool for me.

I liked the soundtrack as well at some portions. Well, probably half of it. I felt that some of the other tracks were approaching redundant at some point.

There's a really happy song that I like, Cloud Smiles. It just gives you a nice warm bubbly feeling inside. Good stuff to listen to if you're down in the dumps :)
