*listening* I like your speaking voice (and singing voice in your other songs) hehe ^.^
As a fellow videogame music cover-er, I understand how difficult it is sometimes to capture the exact feelings and essence of the original piece. I think you did a really good job on some parts (esp. the softer ones) and you definitely made the most of a solo piano having to imitate those complex percussion beats in the original. Interestingly, the Japanese pronunciation, while not exact, when not listening carefully, seems to become an entirely new language all and of its own which blends everything together to form a true something that's not exactly like the original but an entirely new piece based off the original that reaches approximately the same levels of prettiness and sincerity that the original did. Did that make sense? haha XD
It's like Yoko Kanno's theory of vocals: voices are as much an instrument as the instruments playing the music. They dont' necessarily have to be saying real words (of any language) to be making music.
I enjoyed your interpretation, mistakes and all (it was a live performance after all...They do happen *nods*) muchly ^.^

Thanks for listening Kiyo-Chan! I'm really pleased you liked it too - I really have to sort out the pronounciation though :) Do you have any covers about on the net I can listen to? I'm intrigued now hehe.
I'd not heard that from Yoko Kanno either - I so agree with her. My favourite band are a duo called Dead Can Dance and the female singer doesn't sing in any language most of the time - she just uses her own words and I find that really powerful.

I'm intrigued now hehe. You're very welcome hehe ^_^ I've developed a habit of listening to other videogame coverbands lately, though it's a little difficult sometimes since about 85% of covers out there are all guitar/bass/percussion covers and they get really boring after a while...
I'm a violinist for the coverband [Select Start] (I should prolly start putting the website in my sig hehe) There's some music under the "music" section of the site, but I'm only in Eternal Wind. The guy violinist pictured all over the site, Rob, left to go to med school so around Februrary, they invited me to take his place and I accepted hehe ^.^ Eternal Wind is the first piece I played/recorded w. the band.
Before you ask, though, we don't have a myspace but just finished mastering our first studio-recorded CD and are seeking a license so we can put it on the market. Samples soon hehe ^_~

It's a nice calming song (Intertwined). I'm sure you'll eventually make it big like Kiyo Chan is about to soon. :)
