View Full Version : "Game/Anime/Movie MP3 of the Week"

Ok, first of all this is done without anyone's permission, so if this cannot be done, then my apologies, feel free to tell me so and I will remove it inmediately. Also, I am unsure where I could post this, so please correct me if I am wrong here.
Starting today, I will be doing a "mp3 of the week" thing, besides from the one of the main site (but this won't be only for RPG games, it will be of Anime and Movies too, and of course, general games). Also, it won't be of what people want (may take some suggestions, but very rarely so don't always bother).
I am doing this only as a "friendly sharing" porpuse, not because I am doing some kind of service where I gain something. You could call this as a kind of hobby (but not really) or even a gift, so don't come complaining for things like that I didn't update on a week, I may even remove it if I like.
For the hosting I wil be using Rapid Share, a free file hosting site (down is explained how to download from it). Seeing I have quite a large collection of files on my computer, I think sharing 1 every week wouldn't hurt anyone... and I will try to host music tracks that are rare (or from albums that are nowdays hard to find), no Final Fantasy for example (unless it is REALLY rare to find).
Other people can upload their own files of course, but try not to upload files others have already put, and only single tracks (no full albums), to prevent any future problems please. And again, unless really necessary, try not to put track easly found anywhere (again, Final Fantasy), just to keep the variety. Finally...
NO REQUESTS.
I will be placing the link for download below my signature, and sometimes will post here the updates.

For now, I've choosen one of my favorite tracks. It isn't so rare (the album), but seems to be a soundtrack that many don't notice, specialy because the game it is from isn't of the like of most (at least here, as far as I know).
Track: The Unsung War
Album: Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War OST
Artist: Kaiki Kobayashi
Type: Choir - Orchestral
Size: 6.72 MB
Bit Rate: 128kbps
--------------------------------------------------------------
How to download: Click on the link and scroll down, click where says "FREE" and on the next page, scroll down and you will see that the file is getting ready to download (it normaly takes about 20 seconds), wait a bit. Once ready, click or right click and select save as. Easy.

Pretty good song, Daiju. As long as it's not "request-provide", I see nothing wrong with this. However, contrary to the title of the song, the contents clearly show that this war was indeed sung. :p

Geez, only 2 downloads on last update. I guees I should make this thing a bit more interesting (that and post a bit more on the forums -_-'). From now on, the weekly updates will have a "theme", and instead of 1 it will be 2 (Bonus, wich will usually be a shorter/smaller song/file).
The themes: first week was a random videogame, next was a random anime and now it is a random Movie/TV music. Upcoming updates will have more "creative" themes (example: "Vampire week!" would be vampire related tracks from any source, or "M. Sakuraba week!" which would be Motio Sakuraba musics only, etc.).
The selection of the theme... well, I was thinking about something based on people's vote on polls (for the theme, not the tracks) but that would mean multiple threads, another alternative would be that I posted the candidates and people posted their vote here but for that I first need to make sure enough people participate, so for now it will be random based on my choice only.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
This week's choice is the main theme/ intro theme for the TV series of Angel. Excelent mix of instruments, the vocal is a bit off, but still acceptable. The bonus is a track I tought I had lost a long time ago when I formated my computer, it is the main theme of the Tim Burton's movie: Beetlejuice done by Danny Elfman. Funky crazy music, I love it :p
Track: Angel Main Theme (Sanctuary Extended Remix)
Album: Angel OST
Artist: Darling Violetta
Type: Rock-Violin
Size: 3.10 MB
Bit Rate: 128kbps
Track: Main Titles
Album: Beetlejuice OST
Artist: Danny Elfman
Type: Orchestral
Size: 2.25 MB
Bit Rate: 128kbps

I appreciate the effort Daiju, but sometimes you hit and sometimes you miss :p. Like this week for instance, I know I don't want the Angel theme and I have the Beetlejuice. If it's something you want to do, you just gotta' keep going and enjoy the successes when they come.

In all likelihood, I'll have the horror one, but alas, it's that time of year, and it most interests me. So I vote for two.

I'll go for numero uno, I think. I often find that music from unknown games happens to be some of the best.

Regarding the update, besides from having some unexpected and probably "unwanted" visits here on my home, my computer has been acting really weird lately (ie. and the virus detectors seems to pop out with warning about twice each day so I first want to order my files for backup so I can do a hard disk cleaning this weekend.
Besides, I don't think you people would want to risk downloading my files when there is a probability they have a virus (but that's not likely since from what I have seen, the files with problems seem to be only some old programs...).
Anyway, the update day will be on the very day of Halloween picking the horror theme as Esc suggested.

On a side note, and very off topic, Star Wars Galaxies is officially flushed down the drain. They completely overhaul the gameplay yet again by dumbing it down, most likely for console use, which they repeatedly deny. Their whole veteran subscriber base (me included) is leaving now or very soon. I hope they lose a lot of money...
(End Rant)
So...yeah. Don't pick music from that game, though I'm sure all the themes used in it are straight from the movies.

So...yeah. Don't pick music from that game, though I'm sure all the themes used in it are straight from the movies.
I saw a video for the "Trails of Obi-Wan" thing, and to me it seems they couldn't think about anything else to cramp into the game so they had an excuse to release yet another expansion (I mean, HK-47 coming back with an army on Mustafar and using Episode 3 ships? No thank you)
And nah, I knew Galaxies had movie music.
Star Wars will be the theme tomorrow featuring tracks from Republic Commando (1 track, because you can get most at the official site for free), Knights of the Old Republic (2 for 1, 1 for 2 :p ) and the Bonus I mentioned (Hint: fom Revenge of the Sith, not on OST) but after that, next weeks will be on my choice, seeing nobody votes and most weeks get only like 2 or 3 downloads. Not trying to sound pissed off or something, I just think that if it isn't working then I will just do it like old times (and saves me time when writing the posts).

Oh BTW, next week will be tracks from Final Fantasy XII, some of them taken from the recently released english demo that came along with Dragon Quest VIII. Good stuff by the composser of Final Fantasy Tactics (PS), can't remember the name right now.
What did you guys think of the tracks BTW?
Daiju

Well... somehow I knew it would happen: This will end.
Didn't last long, I tought it was a nice idea and would attract a little more people here, but didn't seem to work it seems...
Oh well... but it won't be now, this will continue to be updated until the end of the year, so in other words, this thread will be closed on 01 / 01 / 06 so still look foward for the FFXII update this week and coming 4 ones (which I will try to make the best selection from the best of the best I have).
Hope you guys liked it while it lasted, but it seems pretty pointless to keep it up seeing that the main site has the MP3 requests (and it now even accepts requests for non-RPGs soundtracks from what I see) and that there are about 1'000'000 web sites out there where you can get many of these tracks.
So that's all. Remember to look foward for the last updates ;)

ABOUT DAMN TIME #$%& HOST!
... anyway, here is the first part (out of 4) of this thread's last update and my New Year gift (yeah, 1 week late, you don't have to remind me... ¬_¬):
THE BEST OF 2005(according to me :p )
As the name states, I will put my selection of tracks from soundtracks (only Videogames and Anime) released on 2005 that I concider the best, featuring from 1 to 3 tracks max. for each soundtrack, and also will throw in some few bonuses that aren't from 2005 but I still concider to be of the best or rare to find nowdays (only about 12). The list has been divided on 4 zip files, each about 75MB big making a total of 87 tracks (all 128kbps and MP3 format). For now I put the first part only, the other ones will be put once they are hosted (takes about 4 hours each).
If downloading a file that big is a problem I guess it is Ok if people aske me for only 2 or 3 of a selected soundtrack (list below). Remember that for downloading, you first need to click on FREE below on the page that opens once you click the link, wait and then write the requested code they will show you on a small pic.
Finally, remember that I don't have all soundtracks ever released, in case you don't see one you were looking for, but I think the ones I have are just enough. Now go and get it!
CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD! (http://rapidshare.de/files/10619296/a1.zip.html)
