Ok I just listened to the english version of 'Shizukana Yoru Ni' wich is a insert song for Gundam SEED. Now Gundam SEED has a rep for bad dubbing work. Mainly because it's debut was on CN and we all know how that goes. Now I don't know if it's because I'm used to subbed anime and the insert songs in japanese. But this conversion sounded really bad.

The english voice who was supposed be singing it just sounded like she was reading the lyrics from the script. Wich kind makse no sense as the charecter she supposed to be undertaking: Lacus Clyne is supposed to be a pop star and singer. And shes just readling lyrics not even really takeing time to put effort in it.

Maybe I'm just so used to Rie Tanaka singing it. I'm going to dread what they do to 'Fields of Hope" a insert from SEED DESTINY because there's a change in Lacus voice from SEED to show that the charecter has gotten a bit older and is a bit more serious.

Enough of my rambleing, are ther other poorly done insert songs from anime out there? If there are rant aobut them here!

Oh man, well i'll give the dub a miss then when i buy them, they should do what some other animes do even if its dubbed, lets say Martian Succesor Nadesico (actually was good dubbing! :eek: ) they kept the original Japanese insert songs and did not dub them.

Though i can think of one they really messed up in the dub version, is Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040, they redid the music in english but with the same actual tune so it sounded totally wierd and she was NOT a good singer, the original japanese ones are much better and in this case i heard the english ones before the japanese version. Though the overall dubbing was good just not the insert songs.

It sucks when they chage those songs. They almost never make sense in English anyway so just leave them the way they are. Even if it is weird to see them bust out singing in Japanese.
