Well a bit late I know but I thought we could share all the different OST's we've bought and will buy over this year so we can keep up to date with the latest buyings of us all!

I'm currently awaiting the Sega Piano Nocturne CD to pop through my letterbox in the next couple of days which is the first game music CD I've bought that was actually released in 2005.

Is it just me or has it been a slow start?

What has everyone else bought?

Sitorimon :)

Awaiting for the arrival of Radiata Stories OST, Xenogears Light, Project Majestic Mix Trance album, Black Mages II album, and the Appleseed OST...where can I purchase the Sega piano album Sitorimon?

Newest I got:
- The Black Mages II (Well... it is bad, but it could had been worse) 1 of 5

- Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War OST (Best soundtrack of the year (2004 at least), hands down) 5 of 5

- Xenogears Light (Most of the tracks are nice renditions, but some tend to go kind of far away from their original rythm) 3 of 5

- Geneshaft OST (Many messy heavy rock tracks, probably not of everyone's taste, but I kind of liked some tracks) 2.5 of 5

- Megaman X8 (ripped from the game; it calls back from the old X games' music, wich is a great plus. I like it all) 4 of 5

- Megaman Zero 3 TELOS (I didn't quite catch many tracks from the Zero 3 game, but I still think this one is the best of the 3 Zero games' OSTs) 3.5 of 5

- SW: Republic Commando (You can download it from the official site. While some tracks are just "ambient", tracks like "Vode An (Brothers All)" make it worth... kind of reminds me to a certain song from the OST of "The Red October" movie. 3 of 5

Will (or plan to) get sooner or later:

- Gankutsuou OST (Every wonderful series must come with a wonderful soundtrack. The first one I plan to get from the list)

- Tales of Rebirth OST (Motoi has meant greatness till' now. Hope he lives up to my expectations again)

- Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening OST (I liked the music from the trailers and of the other Devil May Cry, so might as well get this one)

- Biohazard 4's OST (not sure if there is one yet, neither I am sure if it is good, but since I've got the OST of every single Biohazard... except Gaiden)

- SW: Knights of the Old Republic 2 The Sith Lords (Like the first game, there is no OST, but I guess there is a rip out there, I like some of the tunes I have heard on the game so far)

I think there's supposed to be a new "Saga" CD coming out with re-renditions of past themes by Kenji Ito. I hope he touches on some of the boss battles from Saga Frontier.

Thanks for the review Daiju of Xenogears Light - I've been two minds over that CD - I've heard completely mixed opinions over it. I think I'll skip it for now.

Well I'll put my thoughts and say I really love the album...I think piano arrangements are beautiful...and while some may stray a bit from the overall theme...I can't be happier to own the album...then again I love almost all piano albums, san for the Dragon Warrior ones...oh and that Saga CD sounds really awesome Escushion...I love alot of the music from the Saga series...oh and Sitorimon, is this piano album jazzy or...?

Just listening to it now - it is jazzy/bluesy in some respects but not to the point where you want to slit your wrists lol. I love the way they've slowed down Space Harrier and made it into an understated finale. The Shenmue song is fab too. Also they've got all the original versions of the songs on the CD too!

Also bought Dark Chronicle: Premium Arrange which is fantastic - a real mixed genre CD of everything. I liked the OST itself when I got it but prefered Dark Cloud but now I think I'll rediscover the OST now.

Also bought Atelier Elie Unknown Origin but havent listened to it yet.

I would like to get some game OST's this year because i feel ashamed of my myself O game OST collection.

Silent Hill OST - I love the creepy tunes being composed for this game. I dont know which OST i would get maybe the second as that had the best suiting music for the genre

Final Fantasy VIII - Has to be the greatest FF soundtrack...ever. It has such beautiful melodies some even bring me close to tears. Does Nobuo Uematsu hold his own orchestras because i would love to hear him live. Watching his passion first hand would be truely magnificent.

Kingdom Hearts 1 OST - This had some great Renditions in i hope the second soundtrack is as good as the first. I will also get KH2 OST if it is good.

Thats all i am planning to get but if i play a game where i am attracted to the Tunes i hear the i will highly consider getting more OST's.

Can anyone recomend any good ones?

Ah...I played that game and the music is remeniscient of the previous Tales games' so if you like them then it's a definitel buy Sitorimon...but for the Dragon Warrior Piano...I just found them a little too simple that's all...oh another OST I just got...Radiata Stories...great stuff people...

Speaking of Tales, I just got the OST for Tales of Rebirth. One of Motoi's best, let me assure you (at least of the Tales series, I still like more the Star Ocean ones), you might want to get it Edgar.

Hmmmm...looks promising Daiju...since you recommened it I'll be pick it up. Is it remeniscint of the previous Tales albums or doesn't offer something new?

Daiju

On my point of view, it is different than the other Tales soundtracks (it even doesn't feature the traditional "Fighting of the Spirit" theme), kind of more orchestrated (but not to a level like Star Ocean, Baten Kaitos or Valkyrie Profile). If you liked the Eternia or Symphonia ones (don't have the Destiny ones so I can't tell at all), you will like this one.

Oh Daiju - you mentioned Baten Kaitos. Whats your opinion on that one too:D? Just ordered Tales of Symphonia for my b-day treat on your recommendations woohoo!

You liked the Star Ocean 3 OST? Then you will love this one, more or same, but you will like it, that I can assure you all. The style is very similar (a bit more choric) and the battle tunes are of my favorite ever (ie: "Violent Storm" and "The True Mirror")

And while you all are at an OST buying ahoy (and seeing the kind of soundtracks you people listen), then I really recomend the OST for Ace Combat 5 The Unsung War. Even if you've never played or heard about the game, you will love it, seriously. Many beautiful orchestral/rock tracks and a ear catching song.

You know what I STILL havent got Star Ocean 3's OST's yet...SO2 OST took a very long time to grow on me (the arranged album was stunning though). I'm holding off for SO3 for the same reason.

Through my door today I recieved:

-Moonlit Shadow OST (Yasunori Mitsuda & Miki Higashino)

I'm not impressed with this CD at all. Its a jazzy / blues fusion sometimes mixed with rapping - my 3 least favourite genres of music!!! There's a direct lyrics sample of Bust A Groove (move)'s Strike song too - which was off putting too. Maybe it'll grow but Voodoo Vince managed to make me love Jazz & Blues music is one listen so I'm dubious

Orgel Best - Million Hits: Travelling / Dearest

14 songs of Utada Hikaru & Ayumi Hamasaki transposed onto a Music box - its actually really good - even if I dont know any of Ayumi's songs lol

Xenosaga II Movie Scene Soundtrack (saving til last lol)

Yeah! I'm glad you liked them so far...oh and has anyone checked out the album by Mitsuda called Krite? Here's the link to it at cocoebiz.com...it looks very intriguing but I'm going to wait till I get MP3 samples but more than likely I'll purchase it because I love all of Mitsuda's work.

woahoo! Thanks Cloud, I've pre-ordered that as Im sure it'll be excellent. I've become a real fan of Mitsuda's now!

Well I've now done a big order for myself again to finish off a month of celebrating being 21 and therefore putting back any attempt of getting a new computer soon for another month or two lol.

Happy birthday as well buddy!

While not being out yet, there may be a full OST release for Senko no Ronde(G.Rev's latest title) from the SuperSweep Label. I'm just hoping it happens, as I could use some more listening material from Yack :D (If you people haven't guessed yet, he's really high on my favorites list.) Other than that, I'm one of the several lucky people lucky to score a Darius Premium Box which will be released on May 25th :D
