Evanescence is tight...It doesn't seem very Kingdom Hearts, but then again, this is Kingdom Hearts 2.

I doubt Square Enix will let Evanescence in any of their games.

Why not? There's no reason they wouldn't want the lead singer to sing for the game. They look for pop-singers all the time now.
More likely, Evanescence wouldn't agree to it if approached, because Square-Enix would not want the whole band (if Yoko Shimomura is still composing for Kingdom Hearts.)

Uh Evanescence why would they use them? that would just be odd but thats just me though. It may be something different to try I guess but I don't think that it will work

Again, why wouldn't it? People here think these other pop-stars work for the themes because they've never heard of them, when often they're as popular in Japan as Evanescence is here in the U.S.
But in any case, I already found what I believe caused the rumor; a song from FFV titled "Evanescence" that was released on the Final Fantasy Vocal Track CD.

I think it would be kinda cool, I mean it would for sure be different. I'm trying to picture it and imy mind it seems pretty cool but then again I could be completly off.

I wouldn't be surprised if they used Utada Hikaru again. Her songs in a way suit KH better than most.

Depends on whether they use the album version or the video version (if true that is  ). Either way, it's strange to think about Evanescence doing something like this.
